X Factor U.S.A

Have you ever watched or heard of the X Factor? Well this year the X Factor is holding a competition in America. The winner of the X Factor U.S.A will win $1,000,000.00 and a recording contract with Sony. People from all around the globe wouldn't travel to America just to watch the X Factor, so thats why you can watch it on your television, just click to channel three at 7:30pm on a Thursday and Friday night.

So far there have only been auditions on the X Factor. There have probably been hundreds or even thousands of auditions, but only the ones that the judges think have potential go threw to the round. The judges are Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, Paulina Rubio, and Kelly Rowland. There have been good, bad, excellent and terrible auditions, but so far my favourite audition has to be ‘AKNU’. AKNU is a group that consist of three men, they are all brothers, and without a doubt they are good singers.

I have not seen all the auditions but I can’t wait to see the auditions to come. Even though there are still more auditions to come I wish that AKNU wins the X Factor U.S.A for 2013!

Pacific Rim

Have you heard of a new movie called ‘Pacific Rim’? Well on Thursday my dad, older brother and I went and watched it at the Hoyts cinema in Sylvia Park.

“Lets go, we’re going to miss the movie”, I said as I walked out the back door. I was so excited to watch the movie, BUT my only doubt was that we might have missed the movie. We were actually supposed to go to Manukau to watch the movie but traffic was moving like a snail so our plans changed. We arrived at the Sylvia Park Mall at 5:30 and the movie started at 5:40.

As soon as my dad paid for our tickets my brother and I collected our snacks and went into Cinema 7. The movie started and two men appeared on the screen. They were brothers getting ready for a mission. They had to fight this big monster but one of the brothers died. Over the years their country was getting destroyed and wrecked by these enormous monsters called Kaiju. It took many years but the humans found out a way to fight back, they created monster of their own. Their monster were huge robots, a bit like Transformers but these ones needed two people to control it. The two people were located in the head where they could see everything and control the body.

The movie carried on but it was set 5 years later, and it got really interesting. The brother that survived in the beginning had a new partner and she was just qualified to control a robot. There were 4 different robots that protected their country a Russian one, a Chinese one, an Australian one, and an American one. Their mission was to protect the town from three Kaiju from attacking a town nearby. The Russian and Chinese ones ended up getting killed so the American one took on all three a ripped them to bits.

I have tried to explain the movie in the best way possible but it is too hard because the movie is too extreme. Anyway if you have the time and your parents are willing to take you, then you should watch the movie for yourself!

Metabolism

Today in our literacy block my group and I have been learning about Metabolism. I have learnt that men burn more fat than women. The older you get your metabolism slows down. Metabolism helps to turn food into fuel and then burns it. A person with a healthy body and that is fit has a faster metabolism than an overweight person that does no exercise.

Christmas 2012

“Merry Christmas”, I said to my family. Christmas is the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Most people all around the world celebrate Christmas by having a family get together, and also by handing out presents to the younger ones. Christmas day is the best day of the year for me!

As the day passed and everyone arrived at Mt Roskill (my grandparents house), the food was blessed and the day started. As my mouth watered, “Mmm, look at all this delicious food”  mumbled out of it. After I had finished serving my plate of scrumptious food I went to sit down and demolish it all.

When it was time to open the presents all the little kids ran to the sitting room with excitement. Every kid had received at least one present or more. I was very happy with what I got.

At the end of the day I had enjoyed spending my time celebrating Christmas with my family and all my cousins!

I am making movies 2 !

Last week on Sunday some kids represented our school by entering the I am making movies 2, and they went down to the Museum for the Awards. I went with them because my mum was a part of representing our school.

As soon as we arrived at the Museum we went straight inside because it was raining and cold. A few minutes later we were getting ready to go into the elevators but there was a huge line so we had to wait a while. Not long after we were in the big room where the awards were, we were sitting on our chairs waiting for the it to start.

Just to let you know the hosts were Charlie of What Now and Sheryl of Outrageous Fortune. Anyway as soon as our school saw their movies they were happy because they won lots of the categories. When I saw their movies I was amazed because I thought that they were awesome compared to the other school’s one’s.

In the end my mum’s class won the SUPREME award so they received a digital video camera. I am so lucky that my mum took me because me and two other kids got to take a picture with Sheryl and Charlie.

We Are The World Haiti

In the Christmas holidays Haiti had an earthquake and thousands of people died. It happened on the 12th of January 2010. Haiti turned into a disaster zone. It was so sad that they showed it all over the news. While I watched it I saw people with no food, water and shelter. They had no choice but to sleep where ever they could. One amazing thing was that some survivors lasted over a week.

So lots of good singers made a new version of "We Are The World" to raise lots of money to help the people of Haiti. The song was originally made before I was born by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie.

I really liked the new version because some of my favourite singers were in it, such as Usher, Justin Bieber, Micheal Jackson, Wyclef and others. I liked Wyclef because his voice sounded very cool. Did you know that he is from Haiti?

I hope the song makes stacks of money to help Haiti. So if you want to see the new version of the song go on Youtube and look up "We Are The World" Haiti.

My Family Walk

After Shortland Street had finished my family and I went for a walk around the block. While we were walking I was playing with a rugby ball. I threw it up in the air but when it came down I dropped it, and it nearly went on the road. My mum said ''Kingston get the ball'' so I ran for the ball and got it. While walking around the block I was getting puffed out because I kept having to run and catch up with my family.

When we got to Ruapotaka my family stopped for the twins because something was wrong with the pram. But I kept walking and while I was walking I was singing a song called 'Black Box'. It is sung by a person who won Australian Idol and his name is Stan Walker.

Suddenly it came to a point when I had to stop because I was a bit too far away from my family. So I waited for them to catch up. Just when we were about to walk round Glen Innes my brother Jordan asked me if I wanted to have a race with him, but I said ''no'' because I knew I was going to lose.

When we got to Court Cres my brother asked me if I wanted to have another race. I said ''no'' again, but my brother just sprinted off. While he was running I was trying to run with him too but I couldn't. So I just walked with shame. Nah I'm just lying, but I was tired. Finally I got home and I was happy. I waited for the rest of my family to get home. Suddenly they turned up and we stretched. Even though I was tired I still had a good walk.

Kingston's Capture the Flag

On Friday Room 14 and 15 played an exciting game called Capture the flag. Before we played, Miss King divided us into teams. They were room 14 and 15. Then she precisely explained the rules while we listened attentively. After she explained the rules we went down to the bottom field and set up the game. When the game was set up, we were all ready to play. Miss King asked both teams if we were ready, then she said ''GO''. Suddenly every body started sprinting off like a herd of stampeding animals. We tried to get each others flag but we got tug so we had to wait for someone to take us back to our side of the field. When the game was about to finish the score was 7 to 1, so we were winning. Then Prince got one more goal and we won the game. The aim of the game was to capture each others flag.
